Aspiring aerospace engineer with a foundation in physics, mathematics, and economics. Research thinker, debate competitor, production manager, and builder of real things.
I am an IB Diploma student at Aga Khan Academy Mombasa with a serious passion for aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, and the economics of flight. My Extended Essay bridges physics and economics to examine why supersonic commercial aviation has struggled to reach viability despite the technology existing for decades.
I come from a background that spans two countries, three schools, and disciplines that rarely sit together: competitive debate, wildlife conservation, motocross, clinical work, and website development for real clients. I do not fit one box, and I do not intend to.
I believe engineering is ultimately the study of systems. Whether it is the aerodynamics of a supersonic jet, the optimal geometry of a pressurised tank, or the logistics of a full school production, the thinking is the same. Find the constraint. Solve it.
Why Has Commercial Supersonic Travel Struggled to Become Economically Viable in the U.S.?
An interdisciplinary World Studies EE integrating Physics and Economics. Analyzes fuel efficiency barriers, wave drag, sonic boom limitations, and the commercial realities facing supersonic aviation. Concorde and Boom Supersonic serve as central case studies. Synthesizes aerodynamics with industrial economics to evaluate a genuinely unresolved engineering and policy question.
Applied Calculus · Fluid Dynamics · Engineering Optimisation
Used differential equations and Torricelli's Law to model height decay and drainage flow rates. Extended the investigation to find the optimal geometry for a 1000-litre cylindrical tank by balancing hydrostatic pressure against structural wall force, identifying the most material-efficient radius using calculus.
Electricity and Magnetism · Experimental Physics
Investigated how varying the temperature of a 4700µF electrolytic capacitor from 0°C to 80°C affects its capacitance through a 2kΩ resistor. Required precise thermal control, careful circuit setup, and systematic data collection to isolate the relationship between temperature and capacitive behaviour — a property directly relevant to the reliability of electronic systems in aerospace and engineering environments.
Complexometric Titration · Analytical Chemistry
Investigated at what temperature soluble calcium in fresh cow's milk begins to decrease significantly, by heating samples to 30°C, 50°C, 70°C, 90°C, and 100°C and analysing each using complexometric EDTA titration. Demonstrates rigorous experimental methodology, quantitative chemical analysis, and the ability to design a controlled multi-variable investigation.
Literary and Visual Analysis · Critical Thinking
Academic presentation synthesizing themes from the play "I Will Marry When I Want" and political cartoons by Godfrey Mwampembwa to analyze class conflict and economic exploitation. Demonstrates high-level critical analysis across literary and visual texts.
Worked as a dental technician and gained introductory exposure to CAD-CAM technology (Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing) used in dental fabrication. Observed and assisted with the digital manufacturing workflow, developing a foundational awareness of precision design processes in a clinical setting.
Assisted in surgical procedures providing chairside suction support. Also worked as a receptionist, managing client communications and learning to de-escalate tense situations professionally. Developed composure and precision in a high-stakes clinical environment.
Built and managed the client-facing website for Sterling Dental Clinic. Responsible for structure, content, layout, and ongoing maintenance. Delivered a functional and professional digital presence representing the clinic's brand.
Built and managed the website for Terapie Skin Lab. Handled site architecture, visual presentation, and content updates, translating a professional skincare brand's identity into a clean digital experience.
Competed at the Mombasa Open Debate Competition, demonstrating advanced argumentation, public speaking, and analytical thinking under competitive pressure.
Competitor · 2024Completed a short course in automotive mechanics at Lugogo Vocational Institute, Kampala, Uganda. A genuinely hands-on and insightful programme covering vehicle systems, mechanical diagnostics, and practical engineering problem solving. A meaningful step toward applied technical knowledge that directly feeds into aerospace and mechanical engineering ambitions.
Lugogo Vocational Institute · KampalaPractices and teaches boxing. Teaching a physical discipline requires a different level of mastery than competing. Coaching reflects mentorship, patience, and deep technical understanding.
Coach and AthleteActive participant in the President's Award Kenya programme, demonstrating sustained commitment to personal development, service, and resilience across multiple activity areas.
In ProgressParticipated in Aga Khan MUN and Oshwal MUN (2024). Researched international issues, represented national positions, and engaged in structured multilateral negotiation.
2 Conferences · 2024Elected House Captain (2022) and Class Representative (2023) at Aga Khan High School Kampala. Represented peers to school leadership and coordinated house activities, demonstrating early institutional responsibility.
AKHS Kampala · 2022 and 2023Served as both Production Manager and Producer for the Aga Khan Academy Class of 2026 annual play. Oversaw logistics, coordinated cast and crew, managed timelines, and ensured successful delivery from planning through to performance night. Holding creative and operational responsibility simultaneously is what real production leadership looks like.
Co-founded a wildlife conservation CAS initiative with Aryan Datta. Built and structured a team: Keith Kyama leads Community Engagement and Finance; Kelsey Kyalo manages Social Media. Wild at Heart drives active conservation work and environmental awareness in Mombasa. Starting something from nothing and building a functioning team around it is real initiative.
Elected House Captain and Class Representative (2023) at IGCSE level. Acted as the formal voice of the student body, representing peers to school leadership and coordinating house activities. Peer trust and institutional responsibility from an early stage.
Actively competes in and teaches boxing, plays football, and races motocross. The combination signals physical discipline, tolerance for high-pressure environments, and a willingness to master things that require sustained effort over time. Teaching boxing adds a clear coaching and mentorship dimension.
